World War II

December 7, 1941 Japan attacks the United States at Pearl Harbor and other sites in the Pacific, plunging the U.S. into World War II. 

1942-1945 - 16 million Americans go off to fight. 400,000 of them are killed. Worldwide, 80 million people are killed in WWII.
