Features
Gateway West is a development of 131 three- and four-level townhouses in the small suburban city of Hyattsville, Md., in Prince George’s County and less than 10 miles from downtown D.C.
Gateway West was built on undeveloped land less than a half-mile from the Mall at Prince George’s and the Hyattsville Crossing shopping center. Tashia C. Mack-Moye, the general sales manager, said in an email that the development “stands out as a prime choice for young professionals and families seeking modern living in a revitalized neighborhood.”
Sales of 131 townhouses began in January, and 95 units have been sold, with 36 still available. Construction of a second stage, which will add 200 townhouses, is expected to begin in January, with sales beginning in May 2024.

Gateway West has three townhouse models: The Hugo is 16 feet wide and has two to four bedrooms and a one-car garage; the Jenkins is 20 feet wide and has three or four bedrooms and a two-car garage; and the Louisa is 22 feet wide and has three to five bedrooms and a two-car garage.
All the townhouses have brick and vinyl siding, small front yards and rear decks off the second-floor, which is the main level. First-floor garages are at the front of the Louisa floor plan and the rear of the Jenkins and Hugo floor plans.
All units have an entrance that opens to a foyer on the first floor. In addition to a garage, on this level, the units have living space that can be used as a recreation room, a bedroom or a flex room. Some floor plans have a full bathroom or powder room on this level.
All units have luxury vinyl plank flooring in the first-floor living space, throughout the second floor and in the third floor hall. Carpet is standard on stairs and in bedrooms. Stairs can be upgraded to oak treads, and vinyl plank flooring is an option in bedrooms.
The second floor in all units has nine-foot ceilings and open-concept floor plans. Some layouts have powder rooms on this floor. Other floors have eight-foot ceilings.
The units have Kohler bathroom and kitchen fixtures, GE appliances and Timberlake maple cabinetry. Buyers have a choice of cabinet and tile colors. Options include a second-floor gas fireplace and a fourth-floor loft. A roof deck is part of the loft option in the Jenkins and Louisa units.
Kitchen
All units have kitchen islands with sinks and below-countertop dishwashers. They all have three-door refrigerators. The Jenkins and Louisa furnished model homes have an optional upgraded appliance package with a 36-inch gas cooktop and two wall ovens. The Hugo model has a slide-in 36-inch range that fits within the cabinets.
Appliances are stainless steel, backsplashes are white subway tile and countertops are lightly veined quartz. The Hugo model has white Shaker-style cabinets and nickel fixtures. The Jenkins model has white Shaker-style cabinets with black-finish fixtures. The Louisa has brown stained-wood cabinets and nickel fixtures.
Bathrooms
Buyers have a choice of bathroom layouts and fixture finishes. All full bathrooms have quartz countertops. The bathroom in the Jenkins and Louisa primary bedroom suites has a walk-in shower. The Hugo primary bathroom and all secondary bathrooms have shower-tub combinations. Most powder rooms have pedestal sinks.
The Hugo has one or two powder rooms and two or three full bathrooms. The decorated model has a powder room on the first and second floors, a hall bathroom and an en suite primary bathroom on the third floor and an en suite bathroom on the loft floor. The full bathrooms have white quartz countertops, white cabinets, chrome fixtures and a gray tile floor.

The Louisa has one or two powder rooms and two to four full bathrooms. The decorated model unit has two powder rooms and three full baths. The powder rooms are on the second floor and the loft level. The first-floor full bathroom and the third-floor hall bathroom have shower-tub combinations, single-sink vanities and white subway tile shower surrounds. The primary bedroom on the third floor comes with an en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and a double-sink vanity.
All bathrooms have white tile floors, quartz countertops and dark-stained wood cabinets that match those in the kitchen.
